A local man receiving Social Security Disability assistance
came to the Salvation Amy seeking emergency assistance. He had received a shutoff notice from his
electric company because of getting behind in his heat payments due to extra
medication costs. He was very worried
that his electricity would be cut off because of this. He had gotten food assistance from the
Salvation Army in the past. Without
electricity, he would not be able to heat the apartment because it is heated by
electricity. Upon coming to the
Salvation Army he found that he was eligible for our energy assistance program
and was able to keep the power on in his apartment.
We can keep these programs going because of all of our
generous supporters and one of these supporters is the Copper Country United Way.
